Books I am Reading and Raving About

First of all, I am one of those people who love to read more than one book at a time. I have a few friends who seem not to be able to do this. I simply cannot understand why they can't multi-task their reading. Sometimes, I am in the mood for an interesting fiction novel or something easy to read like Nora Robert's latest book which I highly recommend: Strangers in Death
She is writing under her ghost name, but do give this good read a try! Or at other times I am reading something to help improve my life.

I just finished reading Peter Walsh's of TLC's Successful TV Show Cleansweep: It's All Too Much: An Easy Plan for Living a Richer Life with Less Stuff - and what I can tell you is that after reading just the introduction pages, I was off and running and organizing my bedroom.

The result? My bedroom now is organized with every item in it having a place it should have. It is so much easier to keep this way too. I have been sleeping better. I can find what I wish to wear, and instantly know if something is out of place. My boyfriend enjoys it too. Now, this is not to say my bedroom was anything like one has seen on Peter's Cleansweep shows at all. In fact, there was nothing stored under my bed (since I tend to follow feng shui rules) - but I notice I hadn't organized my dresser drawers in a long time, my jewelry wasn't neat or orderly. I found things I didn't know I even had! So this is a book I truly suggest for anyone who wants and wishes to get motivated. This book did the trick. And in no time flat, the top floor of my house is now very well organized. And oddly enough, even looking at the outside of the kitchen cabinets, I sense their inner peace - weird huh? Yes, I know, but I swear I can feel it.

I am giving this new book she's touting a try: Eckart Tolle's A New Earth. So far, I read the introduction (which was lengthy and wordy). A lot of what is in this book is rather obvious, but still I found the book to be interesting. I did sign up for the online work book and have been reading it when I can. Another friend of mine is also reading this and we plan to do the online workshops together at my place. She's mentioned it took the first 100 pages to have the book get interesting. So hang in there. Feel the peace within - lol.

One more book, and this one I really do like. We have all have heard about Wayne W. Dyer and his Powers of Intentions. This book is an oldie, but a super goody! You'll See It When You Believe It: The Way to Your Personal Transformation - I have found this book easier to read than Tolle's, but Dyer's messages are made very clear here - in that we are souls in the form of a body - not bodies with soul. An interesting twist with a Tao-ist theme. If you have never read anything about Taoism and wish to be enlightened - or rather live your life richer, this book is a great starter especially if you are a believer in The Secret. Yes, I have read and seen the so-called movie. In fact, it's one I re-watch when I feel I need to be reminded about how important my thoughts are in creating results in my life.

So, this posting is a little different than most, but felt it was time to share with you my readers, what I have been reading to myself at night before I am off to bed. So do yourself a favor and learn to be more Divalisciously at peace with yourself and with your life and household with some of these books. They just might inspire you like they did me!
